Publication Types

I was chatting with a junior graduate student the other day about a Glamor Mag article in our mutual area of interests. He was very excited about the result and wanted to know what I thought. I said, while the article was in a Glamor Mag (High Profile), the other merits (Significance, Methods) were iffy at best. Grad student seemed a little surprised that these three things didn’t automatically go together.

At times they can be quite uncorrelated.
